"The Educated Puppy" is a true boarding school for dogs. This is not a commercial boarding kennel that offers dog training as a sideline. "The Educated Puppy" is a private boarding school for dogs with a limited monthly enrollment. "Uncle Mikey" believes that every dog is unique. He has developed a program that allows the dogs he is training to live in his OWN HOME. This gives him the opportunity to get to know each dog's unique nature. It also grants him unlimited access to the dog. This is how he is able to create a program that is specific to the unique nature of each dog he trains. When "Uncle Mikey" enters the schoolroom for a lesson there is no schedule to be met. The progress he makes is based upon his daily interpretations of how the dog is relating to the particular lesson at that moment on a given day.

The flexibility of "Uncle Mikey's" program is a key factor in developing a truly happy and obedient dog. This program produces an obedient dog that wants to listen. This is because during the training process the dog has learned to depend upon, love and respect the trainer. As a result the dog will strive to receive the approval of the trainer via physical and verbal praise. There are no trivial rewards such as a dog biskit offered to the dog when the dog obeys a command. Instead the dog is given something of far greater value than a mere morsel of food. The dog is given a reason to obey that appeals to the dog's emotional nature as well as its physical.

Unlike so many mass production dog training programs out there "Uncle Mikey" will do as much to train the owner as he will to train the dog. Once the owner understands the techniques neccessary to support the training their dog has received, both the owner and the dog can progress with confidence.
